Eamon O’Cuiv Minister of Social Protection of the Government of Ireland paid a recent visit to Portavogie to meet with community group representatives. The Minister was the guest of Portavogie Culture & Heritage group, who along with the Monreagh Centre in Co Donegal and the Ullans Centre in Ballymoney make up a trio of Ulster Scots speaking areas.
The minister proceeded to the Somme Museum at Whitespots Newtownards where he was joined on the tour of the centre by children from Ballyhalbert and Portavogie
