The Rural Enabler Programme is a partnership approach between Rural Community Network (the lead partner), Irish Rural Link (IRL), the Department of Community, Equality & Gaeltacht Affairs (DCEGA), and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD).
The Rural Enabler Programme is aimed at supporting rural communities in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties of Ireland to take steps in addressing conflict impacts, racism and social inequality and in doing so overcome tensions, develop increased understanding and build positive relationships for the future.
‘Facilitatory Development’ grants are available to enable groups to use activities or bring in the expertise they need to make a difference in their area.
The Rural Enabler Programme County Down launch is being held in the Market House, Ballynahinch on Monday 20th September commencing at 11am and finishing with lunch.
Jude Cumiskey, who is based in East Down Rural Community Network’s offices commented “I am delighted to be working as the Rural Enabler for County Down. If anyone would like to discuss the programme or receive further information about the launch, please do not hesitate to contact me”.
