Environment Strategy for NI- Discussion Workshop with DAERA & NI Environment Link

Thursday 21st November from 10am -12 noon in RCN offices in Cookstown

The Department of Agriculture Environment and Rural Affairs recently launched a public discussion document on an Environment Strategy for NI. This strategy will shape environmental policy in NI post Brexit. Arguably there has never been a more important time to discuss what type of environmental principles we want to live by and what our vision for the environment in NI will be. Recent analysis, showing Northern Ireland as a UK hotspot for ammonia pollution, alarming loss of biodiversity and the scientific consensus on an imminent climate emergency, has pushed environmental concerns to the top of the public policy agenda.

Join us on Thursday 21st November from 10am -12 noon to discuss the Environment Strategy for NI. We will be joined by a DAERA official who will explain its thinking on the Strategy. We will also hear from Sean Kelly, Development Manager with Northern Ireland Environment Link who will give his views on some of the key issues to be considered. We will set aside plenty of time for questions and answers and a discussion workshop will follow where attendees can share their views on the proposals.
