Rural Community Development Officer
Responsible To: Altnaveigh House Trust Board
Status: 35 hours per week
To 31st March 2013 initially, with 2 yr extension subject to funding & review.
Evening work and a flexible approach will be expected.
ALTNAVEIGH HOSUE operates a system of time off in lieu and does not pay overtime.
Salary: NJC Scale 6 Points 26 – 28 (currently £ 23,231 – £24,785 gross per annum pro rata based on a 35hpw)
Location: ALTNAVEIGH HOUSE 51 Downshire Road Newry with potential additional office locations on occasions with our Partner County Down Rural Community Network (CDRCN)
Background:
We provide a wide range of support to community groups. This post is largely funded by the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development. The successful applicant will work with and develop rural groups across Newry and Mourne and Down in conjunction with other rural development staff employed by our partners (CDRCN & TADA).
Key areas of Responsibilities:
This post is designed to develop and deliver a wide range of initiatives that will increase the capacity of individuals and groups mainly from the PUL community to participate at a local level, interface with statutory agencies and have a direct impact on rural communities in Newry & Mourne and Down Districts
